Viking Homes

Look at this plan of a real Viking home. The ruins were found in Iceland.

The house was destroyed by a volcano about 1000 years ago.

This is a drawing of how the house would have looked. The outside is covered in turf.

Write some sentences to describe what it would have been like to live in this house. Think about the weather, the light and the smells. Use reference books to find out about the furniture the Vikings might have used.
